Alkynes

1HNMR

The alkyne proton appears at about 2 ppm.  In terminal alkynes four bond coupling 4J is important.  For example in 1-butyne, the terminal alkyne proton is split into a triplet because of the CH2 hydrogens 4 bonds away.  Expand the terminal alkyne proton near 2 ppm to see the triplet.
