Common Named Alkyl Groups

Some alkyl groups are so common we have what we call common names for them.  In fact there are many compounds with both IUPAC name and common names.  You should memorize the following common alkyl groups as they will be used regularly.

	isopropyl
	sec-butyl
	t-butyl (tert-butyl)
	isobutyl
